Responsible Gambling
Gambling should be entertainment — not stress. Recognize the signs of problem gambling and find help. Pakistan-specific resources included.
1. Signs of Problem Gambling
Gambling becomes a problem when it negatively affects your life. Watch for these warning signs:
- Spending more money on gambling than you intended or can afford
- Chasing losses — trying to win back money you’ve lost
- Lying to family or friends about gambling activity or losses
- Neglecting work, family, or social responsibilities because of gambling
- Feeling anxious, irritable, or depressed when not gambling
- Borrowing money or selling possessions to fund gambling
- Gambling to escape problems or negative emotions
- Failed repeated attempts to stop or cut back gambling
- Gambling with money meant for essential expenses (rent, food, bills)
2. BC.Game Responsible Gambling Tools
BC.Game provides built-in tools to help you stay in control. Access these at any time from your BC.Game account settings:
- Deposit Limits: Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits. Limits take effect immediately and can only be lowered instantly (increases require a waiting period).
- Loss Limits: Cap the amount you can lose in a set period. Once reached, you cannot deposit until the period resets.
- Session Time Limits: Set a maximum time per gambling session. You’ll be notified when your limit is reached.
- Reality Checks: Receive periodic pop-up reminders showing how long you’ve been playing and your net result for the session.
- Self-Exclusion: Temporarily or permanently exclude yourself from BC.Game. Contact BC.Game support to activate. This is enforced immediately and cannot be reversed during the exclusion period.
- Cool-off Period: Take a short break (24 hours to 6 weeks) during which you cannot access your account.
3. Safe Gambling Principles
- Set a budget before you play — only gamble with money you can afford to lose
- Set time limits — decide in advance how long you’ll play
- Never chase losses — if you lose your budget, stop and walk away
- Don’t gamble when emotional — stressed, sad, or drunk gambling leads to poor decisions
- Take regular breaks — step away every hour at minimum
- Balance gambling with other activities — it should be one of many hobbies, not your only one
- Never borrow money to gamble — this is a serious warning sign
